Remote Control wasn’t your average t-shirt shop—it was a one-day-only design experiment disguised as a retail experience. This pop-up event aimed to showcase original apparel and art with a sharp sense of humor and a bold visual identity. With just one day to make an impression, everything—from branding to wall vinyl—had to hit hard, fast, and memorably.

Objectives

  • Create a Cohesive Brand: Design a full identity system with enough punch to be instantly recognizable in a single-day setting.

  • Design the Physical Space: Transform the temporary venue into an immersive brand experience through custom wall graphics, signage, and display elements.

  • Develop Original Apparel: Create screen-printed designs that could stand alone as wearable art while tying into the overall theme.

  • Promotional Collateral: Build buzz leading up to the event through social content, posters, and print assets.

  • Packaging & Merch: Elevate the experience with branded tags, stickers, and takeaway packaging.

Challenges

  • Limited Time: With only one day of activation, every element had to be immediately impactful.

  • Temporary Setup: Designs had to be bold but removable, durable but quick to install.

  • DIY Energy, Pro Execution: The brand needed to balance its scrappy, indie attitude with a polished presentation.

Our Approach

  1. Pop-Up Branding
We developed a playful, tech-nostalgic identity rooted in the shop’s name—Remote Control—with nods to analog TV graphics, glitch textures, and static interference. The logo, color palette, and type system were built to be modular and versatile across print, apparel, and environmental graphics.

  2. Interior & Environmental Design
The space was transformed using custom vinyl wall wraps, oversized decals, and statement signage. The goal was to turn the venue into a branded experience that blurred the line between gallery, retail, and performance.

  3. Apparel & Product Design
The merch was the star of the show—limited-run tees, totes, and stickers with offbeat, irreverent designs. Each piece tied into the broader Remote Control narrative, creating a collectible feel for attendees.

  4. Promotion & Packaging
We created teaser graphics, posters, and Instagram content in the weeks leading up to the pop-up. Every purchase came in a branded kraft bag with custom stickers, tags, and tissue paper—adding a layer of thoughtfulness to the DIY retail experience.

Results

  • Sold Out Collection: Nearly all apparel sold out during the single-day event.

  • Strong Brand Impact: Visitors engaged with the space as much as the merch, taking photos and sharing across social.

  • Organic Buzz: The pop-up generated attention beyond its physical footprint, helping grow interest in future projects and collaborations.

  • Maximum Impression in Minimum Time: Despite its brief run, Remote Control delivered a complete brand experience in just one day.

Conclusion
Remote Control proved that even a one-day shop can make a lasting impression. With cohesive branding, smart design, and a healthy dose of personality, the pop-up became a living portfolio piece—showing how immersive design can turn any moment into a branded memory.
