Overview
Beauty Unknowns was about giving time back to our skin health pros. Ahead of the launch of our new app designed for dermatologists and doctors to consolidate and streamline their content, I led a pre-launch social media campaign focused on building awareness, excitement, and a solid waitlist of early adopters.
Objectives
Educate & Tease: Introduce the app concept without giving away too much—maintaining intrigue while clearly showing value.
Drive Waitlist Signups: Convert curiosity into action by getting our target audience to sign up early.
Establish Brand Authority: Position Beauty Unknowns as a credible player in the medical-meets-digital beauty space.
Build Community: Create anticipation and a sense of belonging before the platform even launched.
Challenges
New Product, New Category: A content platform for dermatologists isn’t a widely understood concept—messaging had to be clear but fresh.
Skeptical Audience: Many medical professionals are wary of trends and noise—trust and professionalism were key.
No App Yet: With the product still in development, we had to sell the promise of the experience through social alone.
Our Approach
Pre-Launch Campaign Strategy
We built a month-long teaser series designed to hook attention and guide users to our waitlist landing page. Content was rolled out in phases: problem recognition → platform tease → waitlist push.
Visual & Verbal Identity
We designed sleek, clinical-inspired graphics mixed with approachable, lifestyle-forward imagery to balance authority with style. The tone? Smart, efficient, and quietly confident.
Content Creation
Each post highlighted a core benefit—saving time, consolidating scattered content, increasing reach. We used carousels, reels, and stories to build familiarity and rhythm, while directing traffic to our bio link.
Sign-Up Funnel
We simplified the conversion path with a clean, mobile-first landing page and strategic CTA placement across all touchpoints.
Results
Surpassed Signup Goal: Exceeded our early waitlist target by 140% before the app was even announced publicly.
High Engagement Rates: Posts from the campaign earned 3x higher saves and shares than average content.
Brand Perception Shift: Helped position Beauty Unknowns as not just a beauty tastemaker—but a future-forward tech brand for medical pros.
Conclusion
By combining strategic storytelling with a sleek, minimalist visual system, we created a campaign that generated real momentum. Beauty Unknowns’ social media channels became a launchpad—turning abstract ideas into real signups and building a professional user base before the first feature went live.
